Hat tricks highlight weekend sweep
ROCHESTER - Jeff Osler (Brockville, Ont./St. Mary's) and Andy Orsini (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) each recorded hat tricks as the MCC hockey team routed Broome CC 11-0 Saturday.
The victory followed a 5-2 win over the Niagara JV team Friday night. The Tribunes are 14-3-1 on the year and lead Region III with a 13-2 record.
Matt Sauer (Walworth, NY/McQuaid) added two goals and two assists on Sunday. Danny Kuntz (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) teamed with Rob Griffin (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) to make 18 saves for the shutout. Kuntz also had two assists.
Tom Pappa (Oswego, NY/Oswego) had a goal and three assists for the Tribunes. Brendan Prince (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) and Jordan Patarino (Greece, NY/Hilton) also scored. Monroe has outscored Broome 29-3 in three games this year.
Orsini and Prince were the heroes against Niagara on Friday, scoring two goals apiece. Clint Campbell (Honeoye Falls, NY/McQuaid) and Kyle Easton (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili) each had two assists. Kuntz made 22 saves.
