MCC hockey nabs first win of year
AUBURN, MA -
The MCC hockey team picked up its first win of the year Friday, coming from behind to defeat Worcester State College 5-3.
The Tribunes (1-1) trailed 2-1 after the first period before tying it in the second on a goal by Cory Hume. Monroe then scored three times in the third to take control.
Ryan Ford broke the 2-2 tie at the three-minute mark of the third for MCC. Aaron Hildreth then made it 4-2 with the eventual game-winner just 2:45 later. After Worcester cut the lead back to one, Nick Padulo added a power-play score with 2:11 remaining to ice it.
Wallace Thompson scored and added an assist for Monroe. Ford and Padulo also had assists and Eric Cooper had two helpers.
Jessie Labrecque, Greg Coco, and Tyler Lariviere combined to make 19 saves for the Tribunes.
