No. 1 MCC rolls past Mohawk
ROCHESTER - Ricky Karre (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) registered a hat trick as top-ranked MCC cruised to a 12-1 win over Mohawk Valley in a Region III hockey game Saturday.
The Tribunes improved to 12-2 overall and 8-1 in regional play. MCC claimed the No. 1 spot in the national poll earlier in the week.
Justin Kim (Phoenix, AZ/Hamilton) and Steve Conlon (Chili, NY/Churchville-Chili) each added two goals for Monroe. Josh Bechard (Champlain, NY/Northeastern Clinton) had a big game with a goal and five assists.
Aaron Frohm made nine saves in goal.
Aaron Hildreth (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) and Corey Hume (Ottawa, ON/Merivale) each chipped in with a goal and three assists, while Dom Markajani (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and John Mazzarella (Yonkers, NY/Trent) had a goal and two assists apiece.
