Tribunes capture two key victories
ROCHESTER - The MCC ice hockey team had a productive weekend, defeating North Country CC and Hudson Valley CC at the Hudson Valley showcase.
The wins improved MCC's record to 10-2-1 overall and 10-2 in Region III play.
Monroe opened the showcase on Saturday by defeating North Country 5-2. Sophomore forward Allan Campisi (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) paced the offensive attack with a pair of goals.
Danny Kuntz (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) made 23 saves in the net.
The Tribunes then topped Hudson Valley 4-2 on Sunday. Tom Pappa (Oswego, NY/Oswego), Jeff Osler (Brockville, Ont./St. Mary's), Andy Orsini (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit), and Matt McNeil (Greece, NY/Greece Athena) all scored for Monroe.
Kuntz had another strong game in goal, stopping 19 shots.
