Brown to play in All-Star game
ODESSA, TX - MCC sophomore Kareem Brown (New London, CT/New London) has certainly been busy since helping lead the Tribune men's basketball team to a sixth-place finish at the NJCAA Division II national tournament.
The 6-2 guard last week signed with Coppin State University, an NCAA Division I college in Baltimore. He now sets his sights on the NJCAA National All-Star Game, Saturday, April 25, in Odessa, Tex.
The game features some of the best junior college basketball players in the nation. Brown will be on a team comprised of Division II players and will play a team of Division III athletes. The game is presented by the NJCAA Basketball Coaches Association.
Brown averaged a team-high 15 points per game for the Tribunes, who finished the season with a 30-7 record. He finished second all time in 3-pointers in a season (92) and in a career (167).
