Fricano, McShea lead the way for MCC
ROCHESTER - The MCC men's lacrosse team got back to .500 Tuesday evening, defeating CCBC-Catonsville 13-6 to even its record at 3-3.
The Tribunes had a 7-2 lead with just under five minutes to go in the first half before Catonsville scored three unanswered goals to trail 7-5 at the break. But MCC scored the next five spanning the third quarter and part of the fourth to put the game away.
Sophomore midfielder Jake Fricano (Fairport, NY/Fairport) had a huge game, scoring a career-high eight points on four goals and four assists. Three of his goals came during the 5-0 spurt that opened up the game.
Fricano and the MCC attack provided plenty of support for goalie Matt McShea (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta), who had 22 saves.
Lantz Carter (Baltimore, MD/Northwestern) and Kevin McMaster (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) each had two goals and an assist for MCC. Todd Laemlein (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) also scored twice.
