MCC advances to regional final four
ROCHESTER - MCC raced to a 9-2 halftime lead and cruised past Alfred State 18-6 in the quarterfinals of the Region III tournament on John L. DiMarco Field Tuesday afternoon.
The Tribunes (14-4) now advance to the regional final four, which will be played this weekend at Herkimer County Community College. MCC will face Onondaga CC at 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
Swan Skidders (Akwesasne Mohawk Reserve/Salmon River) and Colin Davis (Brighton, NY/Brighton) each had three goals and an assist for Monroe, which won its 11th straight game.
Lantz Carter (Baltimore, MD/Northwestern) added two goals and five assists, and Scott Rubino (Penfield, NY/McQuaid) and Joe Matison (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) also had two goals.
Matt McShea (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) made 11 saves.
