MCC men's lax cruises past Mercyhurst NE
ROCHESTER - MCC improved its chances for a high seed in the upcoming Region III tournament, defeating Mercyhurst NE 18-2 in men's lacrosse action Wednesday evening.
The Tribunes improved to 8-5 overall and are 7-3 in regional play. Since a loss to Hudson Valley, MCC has won two straight by a combined score of 36-6.
Todd Laemlein (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) led the offense with four goals and one assist. Mike Barilla (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) added three goals and one assist, while Lantz Carter (Baltimore, MD/Northwestern) had a hat trick.
Brent Rickan (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville North) chipped in with a goal and two assists and Tim Kleehammer (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) had three assists.
Ryan Konko (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) and Matt McShea (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) combined to make 16 saves in goal for MCC.
