MCC men's lax advances to regional semifinals
ROCHESTER - The fourth-seeded MCC men's lacrosse team took care of business in the Region III quarterfinals, defeating Broome CC 16-2 on John L. DiMarco Field.
The Tribunes (10-5) now advance to the regional Final Four, which will be held this weekend at Herkimer CCC. MCC will play Herkimer at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Todd Laemlein (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) and Mike Barilla (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) each had three goals to lead MCC, which led 6-1 at the break before breaking it open in the second half.
Lantz Carter (Baltimore, MD/Northwestern) and Mark Dwyer (Nantucket, MA/Nantucket) had two goals and one assist each for MCC. Matt McShea (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) made 11 saves in the cage.
