Tribunes tie with Roberts
ROCHESTER - Shastri Spencer (Cresco, PA/Notre Dame) and Stephen Coke (Bronx, NY/Taft) each scored as the MCC men's soccer team played to a 2-2 tie against the Roberts Wesleyan JV squad Wednesday afternoon.
The Tribunes are 11-1-1 on the season. They are ranked ninth in the NJCAA Division I national poll.
Roberts got on the board first, scoring in the 18th minute to take a 1-0 lead. MCC responded 10 minutes later, as Spencer took a pass from Dom Colaprete (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) and scored to tie the game.
Coke gave the Tribunes a 2-1 lead 4:37 before intermission, beating the Roberts defense up the left side of the field and scoring unassisted. It was the 10th straight game in which Coke has scored a goal.
The second half was scoreless until 1:16 remaining, when Roberts converted off a corner kick for the equalizer.
Charles Maxwell (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Mendon) had seven saves in goal for MCC.
