PK helps MCC top Mercyhurst
NORTH EAST, PA - Jeremy Loncao (Brighton, NY/Brighton) converted a penalty kick late in the second half to lift the MCC men's soccer team to a 4-3 victory over Mercyhurst North East in a key Region III battle Saturday.
The Tribunes (6-7-1) will host the Saints in the regional semifinal at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will advance to play host Bryant & Stratton at 1 p.m. on Oct. 31 for the championship.
Jeff Durosier (Port-au-Prince, Haiti/Ramapo) had another solid game for Monroe with a pair of goals. Moses Watkis (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica/South Kent) scored the other goal for the Tribunes.
Kareem Howard (Queens, NY/Hillcrest), Andy Vanderhoof (Chili, NY/Gates Chili), and Jeff Wild (Greece, NY/Greece Athena) all had assists for MCC.
