MCC defeats Delaware Tech

ROCHESTER - The MCC men's soccer team finished the 2011 regular season with a 1-0 victory over Delaware Tech on John L. DiMarco Field Saturday afternoon.

The 20th-ranked Tribunes are 12-3-1 heading into regionals.  Monroe will host the Region III, Division I championship on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 12 p.m.  The opponent has yet to be determined.

Monroe got on the board in the 29th minute.  Adriano Negri (Vancouver, BC/Templeton) sent a nice pass to Cody Winter (North Rose, NY/North Rose-Wolcott, and Winter put it home for a 1-0 lead.

That was all the Tribunes would need, as the defense held strong and kept Del Tech off the scoreboard.

Eddie Bower (Holley, NY/Holley) made two saves for his fifth shutout of the season.
