ROCHESTER, MN- The MCC softball team got off to a great start at the NJCAA Division III national tournament Thursday, defeating Columbus State CC (Ohio) 15-1.
Laura Dischner (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to pace the offense. Samantha Rollins (Hornell, NY/Hornell) added two hits and two runs batted in, while Amanda Page (Batavia, NY/Batavia) had a two-run homer.
Jackie Dean (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) and Emily Burgess (Lyndonville, NY/Lyndonville) each allowed just one hit in combining for the two-hitter for MCC (49-2).
