MCC soccer teams to host districts this weekend
ROCHESTER - Fresh off Region III, Division I championships, the MCC men’s and women’s soccer teams will host districts this weekend on John L. DiMarco Field. On the line for both teams are trips to their respective national tournaments.
The Tribune men (7-7-2) won their 15th Region III title on Saturday, defeating Bryant & Stratton on penalty kicks. MCC plays Essex County College at 12 p.m. Saturday in the Northeast District semifinals. The other semifinal features Bryant & Stratton and Massasoit CC at 3 p.m. The championship is 3 p.m. Sunday.
The Monroe women (14-1) won their 11th straight regional title and 22nd overall Sunday, 4-1 over Bryant & Stratton. The Tribunes will play either Mercer County CC or the Community College of Rhode Island at 12 p.m. Sunday in the District G title game.
