MCC softball continues winning streak
ROCHESTER - The MCC softball team ran its winning streak to 15 games Tuesday, defeating Alfred State 13-1 and 9-0.
Sam Rollins (Hornell, NY/Hornell) went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBIs to lead the offense in the opener. Kira Wagar (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) and Mary Jayne (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) each added two hits and two RBIs,
Jackie Dean (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) got the win in game one, going four innings while allowing two hits and striking out seven.
Emily Burgess (Lyndonville, NY/Lyndonville) and Lindsey Grace (Honeoye, NY/Honeoye) combined for the shutout in game two. Burgess went four innings for the win, allowing two hits and striking out four. Grace closed the contest with two perfect innings.
Chelsey Cary (Pembroke, NY/Pembroke) had a big game at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three runs batted in. Wagar added two hits and two RBIs.
The Tribunes are 23-9 on the season.
