MCC softball keeps streak intact
ROCHESTER - The MCC softball team ran its winning streak to 13 games Sunday, defeating Herkimer CCC 9-1 and 9-0.
The Tribunes are 21-9 on the season.
Sam Jones (Addison, NY/Addison) went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs for host MCC. Amanda Page (Batavia, NY/Batavia) added three hits and four runs scored, while Mary Jayne (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) had two hits and three RBIs.
Liz Dennis (Canastota, NY/Canastota) chipped in with two hits and an RBI. Sam Rollins (Hornell, NY/Hornell) had two hits and two RBIs.
Laura Bauerlein (Penfield, NY/Penfield) struck out five over five innings to get the win.
Lindsey Grace (Honeoye, NY/Honeoye) got the win in game two. The freshman allowed three hits and struck out six over five innings.
Jones stayed hot at the plate, going 2-for-2 with three runs batted in. Kira Wagar (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) added two hits and two RBIs and Rollins had two runs scored and two RBIs.
