Tribunes push streak to 23
SYRACUSE - The MCC softball team ran its winning streak to 23 games, sweeping Onondaga CC 6-0 and 14-1 Sunday.
The Tribunes are a perfect 16-0 in Region III, Division III play. They are 31-9 overall.
Stephanie Wagar (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Monroe in the opener. Mary Jayne (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) added three hits.
Laura Bauerlein (Penfield, NY/Penfield) went five innings with five strikeouts for the victory.
Sam Rollins (Hornell, NY/Hornell) paced the offense in game two, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Amanda Page (Batavia, NY/Batavia) finished 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, while Wagar and Jayne combined for seven hits.
Emily Burgess (Lyndonville, NY/Lyndonville) got the win on the hill.
