MCC softball heads west to start the season

 

Doane College 8, Monroe CC 3 (March 15)

TUCSON, AZ - MCC's 35-game winning streak dating to 2007 was snapped at the hands of Doane, a four-year NAIA college.  Samantha Rollins led the Tribune offense by going 2-for-3 at the plate.

MCC 9, Waldorf College 5 (March 15)

TUCSON, AZ - The Tribunes picked up their first win of the season over another four-year college.  Chelsea Cary went 3-for-5 with two runs batted in and Jackie Dean added a solo homer for Monroe (1-1).

Western Nebraska CC 10, MCC 4 (March 16)

TUCSON, AZ - Sam Rollins had another solid game at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a two-run home run for MCC (1-2).  Western Nebraska is the 11th-ranked team in the nation in NJCAA Division I.

MCC 14, Lakeland JV 3 (March 16)

TUCSON, AZ - Lindsey Grace had a big day offensively, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs.  Amanda Page added two hits.

Western Nebraska CC 4, MCC 3 (March 16)

TUCSON, AZ - Sam Jones was 2-for-2 and Jackie Dean went 2-for-3 for the Tribunes (2-3).

Midland Lutheran College 10, MCC 4 (March 17)

TUCSON, AZ - Mary Jayne went 3-for-3 with two runs batted in and Stephanie and Kira Wagar had two hits apiece for MCC (2-4).  Amanda Page and Kelly Maloney each added solo home runs.

MCC 14, Triton College 4 (March 17)

TUCSON, AZ - Amanda Page had a huge game at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three home runs and six runs batted in.  Jackie Dean picked up the win, scattering eight hits and striking out three.  Kira and Stephanie Wagar each added three hits.

MCC 8, Midland College 3 (March 18)

TUCSON, AZ - Samantha Rollins and Brianne Raftis each had two hits to lead the Tribune offense.

MCC 13, Triton College 0 (March 18)

TUCSON, AZ - Chelsey Cary earned the shutout victory, allowing two hits and striking out six.  Amanda Page had a homer and four RBIs and Kelly Maloney went 2-for-2 with three runs scored.

MCC 8, Hastings College 2 (March 18)

TUCSON, AZ - Amanda Page went 3-for-4 with a home run and five runs batted in.  Emily Burgess struck out five over four innings for the win. Samantha Rollins, Mary Jayne, and Stephanie Wagar had two hits each.

MCC 6, Lakeland JV 3 (March 19)

TUCSON, AZ - Lindsey Grace struck out 11 over five innings for the victory. Christine Faisst went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for MCC (7-4).

MCC 7, Hastings College 5 (March 19)

TUCSON, AZ - Stephanie Wagar went 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs.  Jackie Dean went three innings for the win.

Phoenix College 10, MCC 3 (March 21)

COOLIDGE, AZ - Samantha Rollins went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs batted in.  Elizabeth Dennis added two hits, including a triple.

Central Arizona College 7, MCC 2 (March 21)

COOLIDGE, AZ - Amanda Page went 2-for-2 with a solo home run. Stephanie Wagar also added a solo homer.

Western Arizona College 5, MCC 3 (March 21)

Mesa CC 3, MCC 2 (March 22)

COOLIDGE, AZ - Samantha Rollins went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.  Stephanie Wagar added two hits and a run scored.
