Tribune softball sweeps TC3
ROCHESTER - The MCC softball team swept its second doubleheader in as many days, defeating Tompkins Cortland CC 6-1 and 8-0 Thursday.
The Tribunes, ranked third in the nation in NJCAA Division III, improved to 13-9 on the season.
Jackie Dean (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) threw a gem in the opener, tossing a complete game six-hitter with eight strikeouts.
Sam Rollins (Hornell, NY/Hornell) had a big game, going 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Kira Wagar (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) and Brianne Raftis (Auburn, NY/Auburn) each added two hits and two runs batted in.
Lindsey Grace (Honeoye, NY/Honeoye) earned the shutout in game two, allowing just one hit while striking out seven. Amanda Page (Batavia, NY/Batavia) provided some offensive support, going 3-for-3 with her 10th home run of the season.
Rollins had another huge game, going 4-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs. Kelly Maloney (Honeoye, NY/Honeoye) chipped in with a double and a run batted in.
