MCC competes at Potsdam
POTSDAM, NY - The MCC men's and women's swimming and diving teams fared well at the SUNY Potsdam Invite Saturday.
The Lady Tribunes finished third with a score of 358, while the men were fifth at 292. MCC was the only two-year college at the meet.
Mallory Morrell (Rush, NY/Rush-Henrietta) was a triple-winner for the Tribune women. The sophomore set yet another college and regional mark in the 50 free, finishing in 23.43. She also placed first in the 100 free (53.34) and 200 free (2:00.78).
Jennifer Conklin (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) won the 1,650 free (18:54.24), and Andrea Berger (Livonia, Ny/Livonia) was first in three-meter diving (168.30).
The 200 and 400 free relay teams, comprised of Morrell, Conklin, Kathryn McGowan (Dansville, NY/Dansville), and Ashley Wumkes (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili).
On the men's side, Cory Deacon (Scottsville, NY/Wheatland-Chili) was impressive in finishing second in the 50 free in 23.18. Winners included Taylor Stewart (Owego, NY/Owego Free) in the 200 free (1:50.65) and Tom Deiure (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) in one-meter diving (205.05).
