MCC swims well at Hartwick
ONEONTA - The MCC men's and women's swimming and diving teams participated in a meet with NCAA Division III schools Hartwick and SUNY Oneonta on Sunday. Scores were:
Men
Hartwick 136, MCC 88
MCC 119, Oneonta 93
Women
Hartwick 163, MCC 63
Oneonta 146, MCC 89
Daniel Branca (Panama City, Panama/St. Mary's) and Sean McNamara (Auburn, NY/Auburn) were double winners for the men. Branca won the 200 free (1:45.34) and the 500 free (4:53.25). McNamara placed first in the 50 free (22.12) and the 100 free (49.42).
Renzo Alvarez (Clearwater, FL/J.W. Mitchell) placed first in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.40) for Monroe. Also winning was the 200 free relay team of Caleb Ludlow (Geneseo, NY), Branca, Steve Cevaer (Ransomville, NY/Lewiston-Porter), and McNamara.
The MCC women also won the 200 free relay. The team of Hali Snow (Hamlin, NY/Brockport), Elise Wilkin (Avon, NY/Avon), Bethany Peris (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads), and Courtney Gruschow (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) placed firs tin a time of 1:48.50.
Snow and Gruschow picked up second-place finishes; Snow in the 200 free (2:05.42) and Gruschow in the 50 free (26.42).
