MCC edges Broward CC in overtime
SANFORD, FL - Freshman Brittany Hilliard (Washington, D.C./Theodore Roosevelt) scored five of her game-high 31 points in overtime as MCC defeated Broward CC 83-77 Friday evening at Seminole Community College.
The Tribunes overcame an 11-point deficit with eight minutes remaining in regulation. Hilliard and Jimerea Lee (Philadelphia, PA/Neumann-Goretti) combined to score 13 points to tie the game at 75 and force overtime.
Monroe then outscored Broward 8-2 in the extra session to win it.
Lee finished with a season-high 27 points for MCC (4-5). The sophomore guard also added eight steals, seven rebounds, and three assists. Caila Desroches (Oyster Bay, NY/John Glenn) chipped in with nine points.
MCC will take on Gulf Coast CC Saturday evening.
