MCC women cruise to sixth straight

ROCHESTER - Brittany Hilliard (Washington, D.C./Theodore Roosevelt) scored a game-high 34 points to lead MCC to its sixth straight victory, 88-44 over visiting Jamestown Thursday night.

Hilliard shot 11-of-19 from the field, hit five 3's and was 7-of-8 from the free throw line.  The Tribunes are 10-6 overall and a perfect 6-0 in Western New York Athletic Conference play.

MCC took control with a 28-9 run midway through the first half.  Hilliard scored 13 during the run as the Tribunes opened a 20-point lead at the break.

Natasha Smalls (Harlem, NY/St. Michael's Academy) had a huge game with 12 points, 19 rebounds, three blocks, and three steals.  Ten of her boards were on the offensive glass.

Natalie Young (Queens, NY/John Adams) had nine points for Monroe.  Keona Jones (Brooklyn, NY/Grand Street Campus) added eight points and 10 rebounds and Caila Desroches (Oyster Bay, NY/John Glenn) also scored eight.
