Lady Tribunes rout Trail Blazers
SANBORN, NY - Kamiel Brown (Jamaica, NY/South Shore) led four Tribunes in double figures with 14 as MCC topped host Niagara County CC 76-21 Saturday afternoon.
The win, Monroe's fifth in a a row, improved the team's record to 5-0 in Western New York Athletic Conference play and 9-6 overall.
The Tribune defense was the key in the first half, holding the Trail Blazers to 16 percent shooting en route to a 33-8 halftime advantage. The second stanza was no different, as MCC held NCCC to seven total field goals the entire game.
Charmonique Watt (Brooklyn, NY/Lincoln) and Brittany Hilliard (Washington, D.C./Theodore Roosevelt) added 13 points apiece for the Tribunes. Kristina Rosario (Atlantic City, NJ/Absegami) had 12.
Natasha Smalls (Harlem, NY/St. Michael's Academy) pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds, while Allyssa Lane (Winter Park, FL/Winter Park) had five of MCC's 24 steals.
