Parnell, Fooks honored by WBCA
ROCHESTER - MCC freshman point guard Krystal Parnell (Brooklyn, NY/Murray Bergtraum) was named to the State Farm All-American Basketball Team by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
Parnell, a first-team pick, averaged 12 points and was second in the nation in assists at 8.8 per game. The 5-6 guard also pulled down 6.3 rebounds and had 3.1 steals per contest. The Tribunes finished 22-6 on the season and reached the District C championship game.
Also honored by the WBCA was Deree Fooks (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson), a freshman forward who was named honorable mention. Fooks led MCC in scoring at 15.4 per game while averaging 7.5 rebounds.
