Tribunes extend winning streak
ALFRED - The MCC women's basketball team defeated host Alfred State 81-42 Saturday afternoon, extending the team's winning streak to nine games.
The Tribunes are 13-6 on the year and a perfect 9-0 in Western New York Athletic Conference play.
Brittany Hilliard (Washington, D.C./Theodore Roosevelt) led the way with 19 points, seven rebounds, and five assists for Monroe. Caila Desroches (Oyster Bay, NY/John Glenn) had 14 points and eight boards.
Charmonique Watt (Brooklyn, NY/Lincoln) added 12 points on four 3-pointers, and Kristina Rosario (Atlantic City, NJ/Absegami) had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
MCC had 58 rebounds on the day. The Tribunes hit the offensive glass hard, outscoring the Pioneers 23-2 in second chance points.
