Onondaga tops MCC in national finals
HERKIMER, NY - MCC's dream of a first-ever NJCAA women's lacrosse national championship came up just short Sunday, as the Tribunes fell 9-7 to Onondaga Community College in the title game.
The Lazers completed a fabulous first year of existence, with the team's only loss coming to Monroe in last week's Region III final.
Heather Ziccarelli (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) and Sylvia Queener (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) each scored two goals for MCC. The Tribunes finish the season with a record of 14-4.
Ziccarelli, Queener, Kristine Olijnyk (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and Morgan Achilles (Geneva, NY/Geneva) were named to the All-Tournament team for Monroe.
