MCC women top Yellowjackets
ROCHESTER - Tia Begy (Livonia, NY/Livonia) scored the game-winning goal 6:24 into overtime as the MCC women's soccer team defeated the University of Rochester JVs 1-0 Wednesday evening.
After a scramble in front of the Yellowjacket goal, Begy took a pass from Maura Martin (Chili, NY/Gates Chili) and beat the UR goalie to win the game.
The Tribunes controlled the tempo for most of the contest, outshooting Rochester 17-0. Rachel Murphy (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) earned the shutout in goal.
MCC improves to 7-1 on the season.
