Tribunes shut out William Smith in opener
ROCHESTER - All-American forward Leighana Krzyzanowski (Ontario, NY/Wayne) scored a pair of goals as the MCC women's soccer team defeated the William Smith JV's 4-0 in the season opener Saturday.
Krzyzanowski, who led the Tribunes with 17 goals last year, opened and closed the scoring. The sophomore scored in the 28th minute to give Monroe a 1-0 lead and then added another tally in the 57th minute to provide the final outcome.
Lindsey Cote (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) and Casey Reinhardt (Rochester, NY/Hilton) each added a goal and an assist for MCC (1-0).
Rachel Murphy (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) recorded the shutout in her first game in goal, stopping one William Smith shot.
