MCC wins regional tune-up
ROCHESTER - The MCC women's soccer team took care of business in its final regular season contest, defeating the University of Rochester JVs 1-0 on John L. DiMarco Field Friday.
The Tribunes (13-1) will host the Region III, Division I championship at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1. MCC will play either Mercyhurst North East or Bryant & Stratton.
The game's lone goal came in the 39th minute as Bailey Maxwell (St. Thomas, ON/St. Joseph's) found Veronica Santiago (Rochester, NY/Aquinas) for the score.
It was Santiago's 18th goal of the season.
Rachel Popowych (Hamlin, NY/Brockport) made one save for her third shutout this year.
