Tribunes finish sixth at nationals (March 21, 2009)

Cecil College closed on an 11-3 run and defeated MCC 74-67 at the NJCAA Division II national tournament Saturday afternoon.

The Monroe Community College men's basketball team had its most successful year in 2007, reaching the NJCAA Division II national championship game.  The Tribunes finished as national runners-up and boasted a 30-4 record.  Season highlights included winning an unprecedented third straight Region III title and head coach Jerry Burns picking up win No. 400 in his career.
