Meet the Coaches

Head Coach Susan Dawes

Sue Dawes is in her first year as head coach of the MCC Cheer/Dance team.  She began cheerleading at Charlotte High School, where she served as the team captain for four years.  Sue also danced for 15 years and holds five New York State dance champion titles.

Sue began her coaching career for the Pop Warner Greece Chargers, where she led the Chargers cheerleaders to seven Monroe County titles, two New York State Grand Champion titles, and three Regional top three titles.

Dawes then went on to coach cheerleading for Greece Arcadia High School, where she spent one year with the JV's before taking over the varsity program.  While at Arcadia the numbers grew from six girls when Sue first took over to an all-time high of 30 on the varsity team, including four male team members.  During her 10 years as head coach, Dawes' teams earned back-to-back Section V titles, one Monroe County title, one Greater Rochester title, seven Grand Championships throughout New York, and several top three finishes at local and regional competitions.  Many of Sue's Arcadia alumni went on to cheer at the college level at schools such as University of Buffalo, Niagara University, SUNY Geneseo, St. John Fisher, and SUNY Brockport.

Sue has choreographed routines for several high school teams throughout Section V.  Her unique style of dance has earned her a reputation as one of Section V's most creative coaches.

She served as a Section V cheerleading official in it's initial year.  She is also a nationally-certified judge and has judged several local and regional competitions throughout the Northeast.

Sue is employed by ESL Federal Credit Union and resides in Greece with her husband Peter.  The couple has four daughters, ages 21 to 26.

Assistant coach Andrea Morici

Andrea Morici is in her first year as an assistant for MCC.  She cheered for four years at the varsity level at Greece Olympia High School, serving as the team captain for two years.  She then went on to cheer for the Rochester Rhinestones for two years and was a team captain for one.  She was also a captain for the Rochester Raiders cheerleaders.

Morici danced for four years and worked as a cheer camp instructor for Cheer Ltd. after graduating from high school.  She has also taught ballet.

Andrea's coaching experience started at Greece Olympia where she was a varsity assistant in 2004.  She then coached the JV team for two years.

She was a second team All County pick as a sophomore and was named to the first team as a senior.  She has won numerous individual championships, including qualifying in the top 10 for senior individuals at the Can-Am Nationals.  Her high school team was chosen to cheer at the Ronald McDonald All-American game at Madison Square Garden in 2002.

Morici has also choreographed several routines for local teams.  Her fun style of funk, hip-hop, and jazz will be an asset to MCC's cheerleading program.

Morici is employed by Women's Gynecology and Childbirth Associates and attends Bryant & Stratton.  She resides in Greece.
