Meet the Coaches

Head Coach:

Rocky Delfino (6th season; 64-18)

Coach Delfino begins his sixth season as head coach of the Monroe Community College men's lacrosse program.  He led the Tribunes to an NJCAA national final four appearance in 2004, and NJCAA Region III final four appearances in 2005, 2006, and 2007.  He was voted Region III Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2005. In addition to his position as head coach he is also an assistant professor for MCC's Health and Physical Education Department. Coach Delfino enters his twenty-fourth year of coaching with previous experience coaching wrestling, football, and lacrosse at Fairport High School and coaching football at St. John Fisher College.  He is an assistant varsity football coach at Aquinas Institute.

 

Coach Delfino received his Bachelors Degree in Physical Education in 1983 from Cortland State University and his Masters Degree in Athletics/Health Education from Brockport State University.  He currently resides in Penfield with his wife Andrea, and their two children Debra Lyn and Rocky.

Assistant Coaches:

Mike Lachut

Lachut is in his fourth season as an assistant at MCC.  He was a four-year long pole midfielder for the RIT Tigers and former All-Empire Eight Player. Lachut is the Defensive Coordinator for the Tribunes.

Craig Stewart

An All-American goalie for Ithaca College and a Penfield Youth Lacrosse Coach, Stewart is in his fourth year with the Tribunes. He coaches MCC's goalies.

John Pratt

Pratt, in his second season, has 37 years of experience coaching lacrosse. Pratt coached the West Irondequoit varsity lacrosse program for 28 years.  He compiled a 431-113 record during his tenure, capturing 12 league championships and 11 Section V titles along the way. Pratt’s teams played in 19 total sectional championship games and he was named Monroe County Coach of the Year seven times. He is the seventh-winningest high school coach in New York state and is one of only 11 in the nation with over 400 wins. Pratt will be the offensive coordinator for the Tribunes.

Volunteer Assistants:

Doug McSorley

Doug is a practice and gameday coordinator, preparing the field and taking care of other aspects of the program.
