Monroe Community College finished in third place at the 2006 NJCAA Division I national tournament. The Tribunes opened nationals with a 4-0 win over Navarro College. MCC then fell on penalty kicks to Iowa Western CC in the semifinals. Monroe rebounded to top Schoolcraft 3-1 in the third-place game.
Monroe Community College is one of the most successful junior college women's
soccer teams in the nation. The women's program has won eight national
titles in its illustrious history (1982, '85, '86, '89, '95, 2001, '04, and '05). MCC has won eight Region III titles in a row and 11 in the last 12 years.
