What is an informational interview?
One of the most effective methods of obtaining more detailed information about a career is to conduct an informational interview with someone in one of the career fields you are exploring. An informational interview is an interview that you initiate – you ask the questions. The purpose is to obtain information about a career not to ask for a job. |
What is job shadowing?
Job shadowing is an opportunity for you to connect or shadow with a professional who has specific knowledge about a career in which you are interested. Job shadowing allows a student to accompany a working professional at their job site for a period of time to observe their work and have the opportunity to ask questions about the knowledge skills, talents, and level of education required for the job. |
