NISOD Award

David Shaw

David Shaw, assistant professor, Visual and Performing Arts, and John Striebich, assistant professor, Business Administration/Economics, have been recognized by the National Institute of Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) for their commitment to excellence, teaching and learning.

Shaw began his career at MCC in 1999 and prior to teaching at the college was on the faculty at SUNY Oneonta. The Perinton resident teaches music at MCC and is the advisor of the Student Music Association. “MCC is the greatest place to work,” he says.  “The administration, faculty, staff and students are all a vital component of the college’s unique atmosphere. I am grateful to be a part of this.”

John Striebich

Striebich, a Penfield resident, has worked at MCC for 14 years. Prior to becoming a faculty member in 2003, Striebich was a program director in the Workforce Development Department at MCC and marketing professional for a Fortune 500 company. He enjoys MCC because of the diversity of students and their demonstration of interest. “Students are willing to go beyond academics and build a relationship with faculty as well as gain knowledge that is not available in a textbook,” Striebich says. “I am glad to be able to bring this real world experience into the classroom.”
