All International Students who are currently enrolled or accepted to the college are encouraged to make contact with the International Student Counselor's Office, which is located in the Counseling Center, Building 1, Room 231.

INTRODUCTION

MCC is approved for attendance for non-immigrant students by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. Since 1963, the College has admitted International Students from more than 30 different countries each semester.

The institution's objectives are to:

  • provide students with the education they want and need;
  • enrich the College as an educational resource for MCC students and the local community;
  • contribute to the promotion of international understanding.

APPLICATION PROCESS

International Students (non-immigrants) should request an International Application from the Admissions Office and take the following steps:

  1. Fill out the application.
  2. Provide certified translations in English of all secondary and higher educational experience.
  3. Submit results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
  4. Submit verification of financial ability to cover expenses for one academic year.
  5. Submit the $20 application fee.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Prospective International Students should know that MCC now has Residence Halls.
  • Prospective International Students should know that MCC is a public institution and therefore tuition for non-residents is double that for residents. See college catalog.
  • Prospective International Students should know that health insurance, repatriation insurance, and evacuation insurance are mandatory and will be included in your tuition bill.
  • Fall semester students should apply before June 1st, and Spring semester students should apply before November 1st.
  • International Students interested in working should know that working off campus their first academic year is not approved by the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
  • International Students who are accepted to the College will receive an immigration form I-20. This is to be taken to the U.S. Consulate (Embassy) in order to get a student visa. Students arriving on a B-2 or Visitor visa may not always have their status changed to student status, because they have declared their purpose to be in the United States is as a visitor. Interested students who haven't yet been accepted should indicate to the Consulate or Embassy that they want a prospective student status stamped on their visa document.

We hope to see you on campus very soon.
