      Electronic & Integrated Learning Centers

      Any full or part-time MCC student who attends classes at DCC or Brighton with a valid MCC ID card, any MCC Alumni with a valid MCC Alumni Association card, faculty and staff may access the learning centers.


      The Electronic Learning Center (ELC)
       
        Located on the fourth floor in room 4-071, you may contact the ELC's front desk at  262-1790.

        40 IBM compatible PCs in a networked environment are available in the ELC, each installed with up-to-date software including MS Office MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Internet Access WordPerfect 5.2 for Windows, Minitab, Skillbuilder.  For more details on software please call 262-1798 or 262-1781.Integrated Learning Center

       
        The networked PCs connect to Hewlett Packard LaserJet III & IV printers.  The ELC also permits access to 2 Macintosh LC's and 2 Apple Personal Laser Printers.  These computers each are installed with MS Word, MacWrite, PageMaker, Aldus Paintbrush, and MS Works.

        For private study space, two viewing rooms are equipped with tables and chairs to accommodate groups of eight or fewer people.


      The Integrated Learning Center (ILC)
       

        Located on the fourth floor in room 4-258, the ILC consists of a number of learning labs, Psychology, Math, Writing and TRS Mastery Lab, plus a tutoring area.  Each lab is equipped with either PC's or Macintosh's.

        Psychology Learning Center
         

        • Equipped with 7 Macintosh's and 6 IBM compatible PC's which are loaded with Psychology test software.
        • Students may also take written tests and sign up for tutoring.

        CSTEP/STEP Program Tutorial
         

        • College students tutor students (grades 7- 14) in Math & Science related topics.

        The Math Center
         

        • The Math Center offers 10 Macintosh's loaded with learning software for Math 098 and 104 students.

        • Math faculty members staff the lab for tutoring all levels of math.
        • Call  262-1567 for more details.

        The Writing Center
         

        • Staffed by the English Department, faculty members will assist students in how to organize an essay or term paper for any course, including how to organize a bibliography.
        • 5 IBM Compatibles are available to view, edit, and print papers directly in the Writing Center

        • Call 262-1559 for an appointment or more information.

        TRS Mastery Lab
         

        • Equipped with 25 IBM compatible PCs, the lab is used by all TRS students in English and Math as well as ESL students.  The PC's are loaded with software focused on TRS and ESL courses.
        • A technical assistant and student aides are available to answer any questions.
        • On occasion, the lab may be reserved for either TRS or ESL classes.

        Accounting and Economics
         

        • Tutors are available in each of these disciplines to assist students with questions from any level course.  Please check the ILC Front Desk for a schedule.
        Tutoring
         
        • Tutoring is available in most disciplines and no appointments are needed. Please check at the ILC Front Desk or the outside board for subjects and times.
       


      Computers in the ELC
      ELC and ILC Rules and Regulations:
       
      • Please have valid MCC ID ready for identification to gain entrance.
      • Please sign n and out (please refer to the computer code of conduct in the college catalog for further details)
      • Absolutely no food or drinks
      • No computer games
      • Be considerate to other by being as quiet as possible (no talking loudly)
      • When you are finished, please return the PC to the Windows Program Manager screen and leave the PC on.
