Upward Bound is a federally funded program that provides academic counseling and other necessary services for students to graduate from a Rochester City School District high school.

However, earning a high school diploma is only the first step. Let us assist you with the college admissions process. You can persevere and earn your college degree too!

  • Academic and empowerment workshops
  • College admissions process information for parents:
    • academic entrance requirements
    • financial aid information
  • Help students with college applications
  • Career advisement & academic assessment
  • Field trips to Rochester cultural events
  • Visit area colleges
  • Summer academic program

How to enroll

In order to apply to Upward Bound, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Student must be entering 9th grade, or currently in 9th or 10th grade
  • Student must attend one of the following Rochester City Schools:
    • John Marshall High School
    • East High School
    • Edison Technical & Occupational Education Center
    • Monroe High School
    • Wilson High School
  • Students must have a Grade Point Average of 2.5 or higher
