One-year
Program
The certificate
program in optical fabrication was designed by MCC's Optical Systems Technology
Department in conjunction with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
(LLNL) and APOMA (American Precision Optics Manufacturers Association).
This hands-on program, which can be completed in one year, prepares students
for employment in the optical fabrication industry, manufacturing precision
lens components and assemblies. There is a tremendous need for skilled
optics craftspeople both locally and nationally, and this certificate
program was specifically designed to address that need. Courses completed
for the certificate can be applied toward both two-year A.A.S. degrees
in optical systems programs at MCC as well.
