Description: |  | The objective is to enable the mechanical technician to select appropriate materials, adhesives, and surface finishes for machine parts. Included are lectures and demonstrations on steels and other metals, plastics, concrete, adhesives, and surface finishes such as plating and painting. The course emphasis is on the macroscopic, mechanical and physical characteristics of engineering materials. Spring semester only. Three class hours. |
