| PC & Network Support is
responsible for the design, development, installation and maintenance of
the College's personal computers, local area network (LAN), wide area
network (WAN), and all related network infrastructure. This infrastructure
supports computerized classrooms, labs, learning centers, and office
equipment for all MCC locations.

PERSONAL COMPUTER SUPPORT
We provide installation, configuration of
PCs, printers and software; maintenance of academic learning environments
and office computers as well as activation of backbone network data ports.

PLANNING SERVICES
We work with departments to solve their
desktop computing needs. We assist in the design of classrooms, learning
centers and labs and assist with departmental technology budgeting.

NETWORK PRINTING
Comprehensive support for the College's
network printing services is also provided. GLOBAL FILE SHARE SERVICE (M:
DRIVE) We provide campus-wide data storage for all MCC employees and
departments on drive space known as the M: Drive (disk space located on a
server). The M: Drive is backed up weekly and your files can be accessed
from any computer that is networked.
ETS TECH TIP
If you store your files
on the M: Drive, they will be saved if your computer should ever break
down.
FACULTY AND STAFF EMAIL SYSTEM
All employees of MCC are provided with a
Microsoft Outlook email account. This account is accessible using MS
Outlook on your desktop or via a Web browser from off campus.

- To access your email
from the Web:
- Open your favorite Web
browser
- Go to the Outlook log
on Web page:http://outlook.monroecc.edu
- Select the campus in
the top left corner of page (Brighton or Damon)
- Type your login name
(this is usually the first letter of your first name and your last
name)
- A new box will appear
for your User name (ex. jdoe)
- Type your password in
the password box
- Click the OK button.
STUDENT EMAIL SYSTEM
MCC provides all registered students with
an email account. Student email is a Web-based system that uses Microsoft
Outlook. A variety of distribution lists are automatically created that
will allow you to send messages to each individual student, class,
discipline or program. The MCC student email log on Web page is http://www.monroecc.edu/go/semail/.
ETS TECH FACT
Students can access their
email from 40 student stations located around the campus, or from over
1000 computers in the academic learning environments via the Web.
COMPUTER VIRUS RESEARCH AND MANAGEMENT
We provide fixes for existing viruses and
research new viruses. If your PC has been exposed to a virus, call us and
we will inoculate your PC and clean any infected files. Call the HELP Line
(4357) and choose option 2.
SUPPLIES
We provide all College departments with
the following supplies: staples, pens and pencils, paper clips, writing
tablets, exam booklets, scotch tape, adding machine tape, inter-office
envelopes, file folders, steno books, class roll books, chalk and computer
disks.
