WITHDRAWALS, TUITION LIABILITY &, THE IMPACT ON YOUR FINANCIAL AID
Anytime a student does a course withdrawal, it could impact their financial aid in their current semester and in future semesters. In some cases, withdrawals can result in students having
liability to the college. It is strongly recommended for students who are contemplating a course withdrawal to check with the MCC Financial Aid Office to evaluate its effect on their financial aid.
Complete withdrawals during a semester will have an impact on a student's financial aid. Students who do a complete withdrawal will have their financial aid adjusted according to the
Federal Return of Title IV Refunds Policy. This may result in a student owing a balance to MCC.
In addition, the withdrawal from one or more courses during a semester or academic year, may impact a student's eligibility for both Federal and State Aid program for future semesters if
the student does not meet Satisfactory Academic Progress Guidelines, required by the Federal and State government.
For more information on Satisfactory Academic Progress Guidelines and Federal Return of Title IV Refunds Policy, students should refer to pages 31-34 of the 2004/2005
MCC Catalog & Student Handbook.
RENEWAL FAFSA'S
A "Renewal FAFSA" is a FAFSA that is made available to returning federal aid applicants who had completed a FAFSA prior to October of the current academic year. The Renewal FAFSA is pre-printed
with information specific to an individual student, such as name, address, college information, etc… to be used for the next academic year. It is pre-printed with the student's information in order to
make the re-application process faster for students and their families.
Students who completed a 2004-05 FAFSA prior to October 2004 and provided a valid e-mail address on their 2004-05 FAFSA will be sent an e-mail reminder in December 2004 to
inform them about the renewal process and how to access their renewal FAFSA online. Student's who completed a 2004-05 FAFSA after to September 2004, will not have the Renewal
FASA option available to them
Students can access their 2005-06 Renewal FAFSA's via the FAFSA web page at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Students should remember that they cannot submit their 2005-06 Renewal FAFSA until
after January 1, 2005. In order to access their Renewal FAFSA online, students will need their Federal Personal Identification Number (PIN). If a student has misplaced their PIN, they can request
a new one via the Federal PIN web site at www.pin.ed.gov.
Students who cannot access their Renewal FAFSA or do not have one available can still re-apply for financial aid using a standard 2005-06 FAFSA
REMINDER: The tuition due date for the 2005 Spring semester is DECEMBER 15TH, 2004
