Having received a Thompson Family scholarship, Kerri Guzman shared that "The Thompson Family Scholarship changed my life and the lives of my four children." Kerri is a Health and Physical Education major who's goal is to become a teacher and basketball coach. The Thompson Family established an endowed scholarship fund so students like Kerri have the support they need to balance family and work, while earning a degree at MCC.

Each year, the MCC Foundation transfers hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarship aid to current and prospective MCC students. This is made possible by caring MCC alumni, parents and friends, as well as generous leaders of corporations and foundations, who support the MCC Annual Fund and establish scholarships at MCC Foundation events.

Some MCC Foundation scholarships are general unrestricted funds, and some are named in memory of members of our community. Others focus on academic, co-curricular and leadership performance and programs.

Scholarships Put Higher Education Within Reach For Many

Nearly 65 percent of MCC’s students depend on financial aid in the form of scholarships, grants or loans. A gift to the MCC Annual Fund helps students who otherwise might not have the opportunity to attend or continue their studies at MCC. MCC Foundation donors enable the college’s Financial Aid Office to respond to a student’s individual financial needs with scholarship support so he or she can attend MCC and continue their education.
