Services of the MCC Human Resources department include:

  • Information and answers to benefit/compensation questions
  • Assistance with retirement and tax-deferred annuity programs
  • Assistance in position/vacancy searches and hiring procedures (including, advertising, job posting, scheduling interviews, etc.)
  • Information on discipline procedures and grievance hearings; interpreting Civil Service rules; position reclassifications, and position control and CSEA increments
  • New employee orientation and payroll processing
  • Tuition waivers and tuition reimbursement
  • Student aide employment and payroll processing
  • Faculty reappointment/compensation (including salary equity)
  • Personnel actions requiring Board of Trustees’ approval
  • Compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (including reasonable accommodation and grievance procedures)
  • Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • Separation from service

Our goals include:

  • To extend efforts to recruit minority candidates for each job opening
  • To continue efforts to improve the day-to-day relations with the Faculty Association and the Civil Service Employees’ Association
  • To provide an orientation for new employees enabling them to become better acquainted with the College
  • To disseminate information concerning College policies and procedures
  • To promote professional development activities
  • To coordinate all college hiring and search processes
