Learning Centers in Interdisciplinary Studies

Tutorials and specialized support activities offered through the Interdisciplinary Programs Learning Centers and Writing Centers at both campuses are designed to enrich educational opportunities of MCC students and subscribe to the College's highest priority: student success.

Services Offered:

• Specified services for Transitional Studies (TRS), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)/Foreign Languages students includes supplemental software for TRS math and writing courses, CD-ROMs, video, audio cassettes, and make-up testing (offered in certain designated centers).
  
  
• One-on-one and group tutorials are offered to students across academic disciplines in more than 300 MCC courses. (In addition, tutorials are offered at the Applied Technologies Center. Upon request, on-site tutoring is available at the Public Safety Training Center.)
  
  
• Occupation-specific workshops, customized review sessions, and guest speaker presentations for career and technical students are offered.
  
  
• In-class workshops assist students in strengthening their writing skills (i.e., in-class essays, response essays, what a college paper should look like, literary essays, documentation styles for research papers).
  
  
• Computers are available for students to type papers, research via the internet, access e-mail accounts, etc.
