Are you a faculty member in Liberal Arts who would prefer advising and mentoring students from your own classes?
The Liberal Arts Mentor Program is designed to connect students and faculty for long-term mentoring relationships. Participating in this Program will allow you to advise and register (if you choose) students in your office. You will be provided with numerous up-to-date resources, special advisement training opportunities, and workshops with mentors in other disciplines. This Program affords the opportunity to further interact with students in your discipline and to assist them in long-range career planning, as well as class selection from semester to semester.
We are committed to providing you with resources to assist in your advisement work with students. Please feel free to contact any of us with questions or feedback on the Program.
“My favorite part about advising is the one on one relationship I can develop with students… I already know their learning styles, their personalities, and their career interests since they are or have been in one of my classes…What gives me the most satisfaction is when they call me later, just to let me know how they are doing…”
