• Center for Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) - A non-profit organization of affiliated police practitioners, researchers, and universities dedicated to making information accessible about ways in which police can more effectively address specific crime and disorder problems.

• Criminal Justice Resources: Community Policing - This research guide created by Jon Harrison, Criminal Justice Specialist, Michigan State University Libraries provides links to numerous websites, documents, studies, and reports on the topic of community policing.

• International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) - Use the "IACP Search and "Advance Search" feature to locate information about community policing available on the IACP website. You may search by keyword, type of content and/or category.

• National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) - Categories to explore on this site include: publications, programs, training, topics, newsroom, and law enforcement.

• Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) - Select the "Free Doc Library" link to access documents and reports on community policing, problem solving & community policing.

• Regional Community Policing Institutes (RCPI's) - A national training network established by the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Policing Services (COPS) to provide comprehensive and innovative community policing education, training, and technical assistance to law enforcement and the communities they serve.

• Community-Based Programs - This page from the National Youth Violence Prevention Resource Center provides links to articles, fact sheets, tips and links to other websites which discuss the elements of successful youth violence prevention programs.

• National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) - A national non-profit educational organization that provides resources and services for individuals, communities and governments focused on the prevention of crime.

• WalkingInfo.org: Crime and Walking at Night - This page from WalkingInfo.org discusses ways in which community members can work together with each other and law enforcement to make neighborhoods pleasant and safe environments in which to live and walk.

• Neighborhood Watch Program - USAOnWatch (UOW) was created by the National Sheriffs' Association to unite law enforcement agencies, private organizations, and individual citizens in a massive effort to reduce residential crime.

New York State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies

• Monroe County Sheriff's Office - Access weekly Neighborhood Crime Reports, information about the Crime Stoppers program, and information on Community Services Unit programs and presentations.

• Rochester Police Department - This site provides access to Crime Information Bulletins, Frequently Asked Questions, and information about special services/programs offered by the Rochester Police Department.

• New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services - This site provides information on NYS crime statistics, wanted and missing persons, access to the NYS sex offender registry, inmate information and notification, and access to crime related state publications.

• New York State Division of State Police - Established in 1917, the mission of the New York State Police includes preventing and investigating crimes, keeping New York’s highways safe for all travelers, and providing high quality support services to other NYS municipalities and agencies.
