Durable links, also known as persistent URLs (Uniform Resource Locators), purls, or stable links, are links that remain constant and forever up-to-date. They are provided by many online library subscription databases in a variety of formats to ensure consistent access to full-text articles available directly from the database. Faculty who use ANGEL may want to create durable links in ANGEL to provide students with access to a specific library database, a reading list of articles, or online reference materials to assist with course assignments. Copyright and Linking to Library Resources Licensing agreements with individual database vendors allow instructors to create links in course management systems to connect directly to full text articles available in library databases, or electronic books. Copyright law prohibits copying and saving the full text from article databases into course sites that are not password protected. Linking to an item using both the durable URL provided by the database and the library "proxy" prefix is within copyright "fair use" guidelines. Links to resources will remain active as long as the item is included in the database content, or as long as the library maintains a subscription to the database. Add the Proxy Prefix for Off-Campus Access to Library Resources
In order for links to articles from library
