  • Go to http://www.monroecc.edu/go/library

  • Click "Find articles and online databases"

  • If off-campus select "Access from Home" and follow directions to
        log-in to EZProxy

  • Scroll down to view the categories of databases available

  • Then select a database to search

  • image of Access from Home link and EZproxy icon

To log-in to EZproxy, students must use the same username and password combination required to access their MCC Student E-mail Account. All students registered for SUNY Learning Network (SLN) online courses at MCC have been assigned an MCC Student E-mail Account. MCC students can learn more about their college e-mail account by visiting the "MCC Students" web page at http://www.monroecc.edu/Students/ and clicking on the "Lookup My Account" and "Common Questions" links in the "Email Help & Setup" drop down menu on the right side of the page.

SLN Access to SUNYconnect Online Article Databases

SUNY Learning Network Students can access article databases from within their online course by clicking on the "SUNYConnect" link located in the "Resources" section of their SLN ANGEL Course Map page. Once connected to the SLN Access to SUNYConnect Electronic Resources web page, click on the name of the database you want to search. You will then be prompted to enter your SLN Username and SLN Password to log in to search the databases.

Please note that some of the article databases that are available through SUNYConnect are also available through the MCC Libraries.

    Article Search Tips

    • Select a recommended database from the list above.

    • Use subject terms and keywords appropriate to your topic.

    • Search more than one database to locate articles, since there is variation in the subject terms used by each database, and also differences in the type and number of journals covered.

    • Each library article database contains a "Help" section which provides numerous tips on searching, viewing search results, and information on print/e-mail/save options.

    • Database help guides are available on the MCC Libraries website in the Searching Article Databases section of the Publications, Research Guides, & Tutorials web page.

    • If the full-text article is not directly available from the database make sure you write down or print off the citation for the article. You will need the citation information (title of the publication, author, title of article, volume, date, issue, and page numbers) to check if the article is available from the Libraries' print periodicals collection, or if you want to submit a request for Interlibrary Loan. Interlibrary Loan is a network of local, state or national libraries that share resources (primarily books and photocopies) by lending and borrowing with each other.

      • The Who Qualifies for Distance Library Services web page provides links to learn more about the Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan Services available exclusively to students who are currently enrolled in an MCC SUNY Learning Network (SLN) fully online course, and are not taking any on campus courses at either the Brighton or Damon City Campus, or any on campus hybrid or web enhanced classes using CourseSpace.

It also contains links to many free full-text electronic journals that are available directly on the Web. This listing can be helpful if you already have the citation to the article and want to check if we subscribe to a certain periodical online, or if you would just like to browse the contents of a specific publication exclusively online. Once on the "Electronic Journal List" page simply type the title of the publication you are looking for in the search box then press the "Go" button.
